Farrier truck bodies are made to order. Composite shells are closed molded using a high grade epoxy
resin. To complete the matrix, we use a combonation of fiberglass, carbon fiber and an infusible core. This method is
often referred to as "sandwich cored fiberglass" Layup of these materials are done by hand to build the main
sub components, then infused with resin under high pressure in a closed mold. Sub parts are then trimmed to size
and asembled to exact specifications .
VLC is a custom fiberglass
company founded by a second generation farrier. Design had some important features in mind;A) weight, shell
bodies are lighter than a stock truck bed, often times and depending on design, are the weight of a shoeing anvil. B)Tooling
design or mold design, able to fabricate for all sizes of trucks. This allows us to design width, length and hight
according to what is best for the each farrier / truck. C)Longevity, No rust or corrosion. composite shells
are primed with an aircraft grade UV primer and professionaly painted with an automotive paint. D)Accessibility,
our shells are very comfortable to work out of. An open covered space allows you to stock your work area with what
is best for each individual farrier
